Vegan Delivery Service Simple Feast Receives $12 Million Grant

Simple Feast, a Danish delivery service founded in 2015, offers its customers sustainable vegetarian and vegan meals and delivers them entirely in biodegradable packaging cartons. To accelerate its goal of being “the most sustainable menu service in the world”, the company has now raised $12 million in investment capital.

According to a TechCrunch report, the financing round was led by London-based Balderton Capital with 14W and existing investors Sweet Capital and ByFounders. Jakob Jønck, CEO and co-founder of Simple Feast, said: “Climate change is real. There is no planet B, and we are facing probably the greatest challenge in human history”.

By predominantly offering plant-based menus and not using plastic or polystyrene for its packaging, the new delivery service wants to reduce its negative environmental impact and help its customers do the same. In addition, Simple Feast offers its customers individual deliveries with no obligation to subscribe.

Other delivery services that offer partly or even fully vegan meals include Veestro and Deliveroo.
