Australia: Supermarket Chain Coles Launches its Own Vegan Frozen Foods

It is not just in Europe and the USA that veganism is very much in vogue. The market Down Under is also becoming increasingly promising for companies. For example, there is already a high demand for Vivera’s vegan steaks. Subway has added a vegan sandwich to its range in Australia, and now the supermarket chain Coles is following suit with its own vegan frozen food.

The Australian retailer has added a new range of vegan frozen ready meals to its range. The new product line includes gluten-free vegetable chili and penang curry as well as vegetable gyozas, which resemble pasta pockets. Other vegan frozen products from the supermarket include Fry’s soy and flaxseed schnitzel and chia seed frozen nuggets, as well as almond caramel ice cream from Sanitarium. The leading chain in Australia, Woolworths, has also launched a large number of new vegan products in recent months.
