Nestlé Soon to Enter UK Market with Garden Gourmet

Nestlé, the world’s largest food producer, recently announced the launch of its veggie brand Garden Gourmet in the UK. This is the company’s response to growing consumer demand in the UK for plant-based meat alternatives.

It’s not just vegans and vegetarians but also flexitarians who have helped to drive sales in this segment. From May 27th, Nestlé’s plant-based Garden Gourmet products will also be available from the UK retailers Sainsbury’s and Ocado. The range comprises a total of twelve vegan alternatives, such as meat-free burgers, minced meat and mezze. According to the manufacturer, all products are free of artificial flavours and preservatives.

Paula Jordan, Managing Director of Nestlé’s UK Food Division, said: “We are delighted to launch this delicious new food brand in the “meat-free products” category, one of the most innovative categories in the UK food sector. We believe that vegetarian food is more than just cooking vegetables; it is about new tastes, flavours and exciting experiences, as well as a healthy and sustainable lifestyle”.
