Trader Joe’s Podcast Reveals Vegan Milk Chocolate Bars are Being Developed

According to VegNews, Trader Joe’s is currently developing vegan milk chocolate bars. The announcement was made on episode 21 of Inside Trader Joe’s podcast. The reveal was made during a conversation between the chain’s marketing director Tara Miller and category manager for candy, cookies, and cereal, Alison Nadler Guerette. “Our customers are asking for vegan items. Or for instance, we launched almond butter cups this past year. Almond butter was very popular in the grocery category, but we have peanut butter cups so why not almond butter cups,” Nadler Guerette said.  “That makes me think of a product that’s still sort of in development but has been approved by the tasting panel,” Miller interjected. Trader Joes Launches Vegan Crabcakes

Trader Joe’s has released new Vegan Jackfruit “Crabless” Cakes nationwide in the US. The newest addition to their expanding vegan range is made from jackfruit, potatoes, cilantro, green onions and celery seeds, with a blend of seasonings which create the taste and texture of real crab cakes. The crab cakes are available at the freezer section and sold in boxes of four.

Plant-based meat company KARANA is expanding into retail in Singapore through a collaboration with the local pant-based grocer and CPG brand goodfoodpeople by SaladStop! From April, KARANA’s jackfruit meat will be available in gyozas, beef Wellington, and chorizo meatballs. The Singaporean company, intending to scale jackfruit as a climate super crop, is available at 40 locations across Singapore.
