Veganz Launches Shelf-Stable “Peas On Earth” Pea Protein Mince

Germany’s Veganz has announced the launch of its new Peas On Earth minced pea protein product, which has been available online since October 3 and will soon be available in REWE Group and GLOBUS stores. According to the company, the product offers an interesting alternative to conventional minced meat and meat substitutes by relying on the advantages of dry storage. Peas On Earth’s pea mince is supplied in lightweight 100 gram packs that do not require refrigeration and therefore have a long shelf life. As soon as the product is mixed with water, at least three times the amount of minced meat-like mass is produced, which can be used as usual in various dishes. Veganz’ 2D Printed Oat Milk Discs Arrive on Organic Grocery Stores Following €10M Investment

The gluten-free organic Mililk oat milk discs are produced by Veganz Group with 2D printers and sold in sheet form. Veganz claims that this form saves 94% packaging waste and 85% weight compared to products in milk cartons. The sustainable product, first revealed last summer, is now available in organic food stores in Germany. The milk alternative is now available under the Veganz Bio Mililk® Oat Barista brand from Terra Naturkost, the organic wholesaler for north-east Germany. Veganz Secures €10M to Scale Production of Mililk 2D-Printed Milk Alternatives

German plant-based food producer Veganz Group AG has signed a Securities Purchase Agreement with Global Corporate Finance LLC (GCF), securing equity financing of up to €10 million. The funding will allow Veganz to scale up the production of Mililk, an innovative milk alternative supplied in the form of 2D-printed sheets that can be blended with water. By optimizing and automating manufacturing processes, the company hopes to increase its capacity for the production of milk alternatives by a factor of five to meet growing demand. Veganz Group AG Secures Funding from the State of Brandenburg for Construction of New Production Facility

Veganz Group AG already had its application for investment grants approved by the Brandenburg Investment Bank last year and has now also received notification that the agreed grants will be utilised. German retailer REWE is set to open its first fully vegan supermarket, called REWE voll pflanzlich, in Berlin. The store is on the site of the former Veganz supermarket at Warschauer Brücke in Berlin-Friedrichshain, which closed in December after the company decided to focus entirely on product manufacturing. Berlin-based vegan brand Veganz Group has acquired the brands and production site of another German company, Cuxhaven-based Happy Cheeze. Happy Cheeze is a premium plant-based cheese producer that sells its products under the brand name Dr. Mannah’s. The company ran into financial difficulties earlier this year due to the rising cost of energy and raw materials, along with reduced consumer spending power. Insolvency proceedings were opened at the end of August. Veganz Group of Berlin, like most businesses, had to contend with the ongoing economic weakness in 2022: after the focus of food retailing and the discount sector in the first months of the year was on ensuring basic supplies for the population, the young core target group in particular (Generation Z and Millennials+) was most recently heavily impacted by price increases in view of their comparatively low income.
