MeaTech 3D, announces its entrance into the US food market. MeaTech US will be based in California, where it will begin activities in research and development, investor relations and business development. Originally from Israel, MeaTech 3D grew its team by more than 50% in the past year alone. The company recently relocated to its new headquarters to Rehovot, Israel, widely known as the epicenter of the nation’s foodtech sector. UPSIDE Foods Invites the Public Into “World’s Most Advanced Cultivated Meat Facility”

UPSIDE Foods, formerly known as Memphis Meats, has hosted a public tour of what it describes as “the world’s most advanced cultivated meat facility”. The company opened its 53,000 square foot Engineering, Production and Innovation Center (EPIC) in November, with the aim of being able to produce cultivated meat of any species. The facility was intentionally built within an urban community to increase transparency. Recognising that many consumers have concerns or misconceptions about cultivated meat, UPSIDE has decided to offer public tours to help raise awareness of the benefits. Eat Just’s GOOD Meat Brings Cultivated Chicken to Singapore Hawker Stalls

For the first time in history, Singapore’s famous food hawkers will serve real chicken made without slaughter from cultivated startup GOOD Meat.  Beginning February 26, GOOD Meat, a subsidiary of alt-protein brand Eat Just, will partner with select vendors to serve its cultivated chicken to a limited number of diners. The first pop-up will take place at Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice in Tiong Bahru, where the family-run stall will feature GOOD Meat’s chicken in its famed curry rice dish for SG$4 (about $3.) Seawith – a cultivated steak pioneer from South Korea – has announced the completion of a ₩6.5 billion ($5.43 million) Series A investment, as the startup looks to lead the cultivated meat movement in the country. IntegriCulture – the Japanese cultivated meat commercialization specialist – has raised $7 million in Series A-plus funding. The company will use the funds in its development of affordable growth media and other tech solutions for the cellular agriculture sector.  Striving to bring down costs for emerging cultivated meat companies, IntegriCulture is developing ‘outside-factor-free’ cellular agriculture tech, which could even one day be used in the home. The recent $7 million in Series A-plus funding brings IntegriCulture’s total funding to date to $16.4 million. Israel’s Major Food Producer Tnuva Collaborates with BioTech Company Pluristem For Cultivated Food Platform

The Tnuva Group, Israel’s largest food conglomerate, just announced the launch of a collaboration with local biotechnology company Pluristem to develop, manufacture and commercialize cultivated products for the food industry. The collaboration started with the incorporation of a new company called NewCo that will receive exclusive, global, royalty bearing licensing rights to use Pluristem’s proprietary technology and know-how to be used in the field of cultured meat. The Tnuva Group will invest $7.5 million in NewCo, according to a pre-money valuation of $40 million, with the option to invest up to an additional $7.5 million over a period of 12 months following the closing. 34% of UK Consumers Willing to Try Cultivated Meat, 60% Would Try Plant-Based

A new study into public acceptance of alternative proteins released today by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) reveals that around a third (34%) of UK consumers are willing to sample cultivated meat, whilst as many as six in ten (60%) are happy to try plant-based proteins. The research was conducted with a representative sample of 1,930 adults aged 16-75 in the UK between 9th – 11th December 2021, commissioned by the FSA via Ipsos MORI’s online omnibus. The most cited reason for unwillingness to try cultivated meat (49%) was due to finding it “off-putting”, whereas the biggest barrier to trying plant-based proteins was that participants enjoy consuming animal meats (36%).
