ProVeg’s VegMed is coming to London in September
VegMed, Europe’s first and only congress on vegan and vegetarian nutrition and medicine, is coming to London this September. The event is specifically targeted at physicians, medical students, and nutritionists, as well as people from other health professions such as naturopaths and dieticians. We talked to Joe Stratton, UK-based campaigner with ProVeg International, about programme highlights, VegMed’s target audience and the preparations leading up to the event.
Vegan India Expo 2019: First B2B Vegan Event in India
Between 5th and 7th of July, the Vegan India Expo took place in New Delhi, marking the first international B2B vegan event in India. A total of 38 exhibitors and 1,600 visitors took part in the trade show. It was supported by the World Vegan Organisation, NSIC (National Small Scale Industries Corporation) and Federation India Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) and organised by EXHIMACT and VERIFAIR.
Vevolution’s Pitch + Plant Winners Announced as Club Cultured & The Well Bean Company
Pitch + Plant, the UK’s first plant-based Dragon’s Den style pitching competition, was created by the startup Vevolution in 2017 and helps early stage startups access funding for their business. n in 2017. For this year’s event, Vevoluttion announced that it will make investments directly into startups.

Finalists Announced For Vegan Investment Competition Pitch & Plant
The finalists for the UK’s leading plant-based investment competition, Pitch + Plant have been announced. Pitch + Plant 2019 takes place this Saturday evening on the 13th July at Lush Studio in Soho. It follows on from the Vevolution, Plant Based Business Bootcamp, a daytime leadership event for the plant-based sector which is attracting some of the biggest names in ethical entrepreneurship to speak.
Way Out West: First Vegan, Climate Transparent Music Festival
Way Out West is a Swedish music festival based in Gothenburg that hosts over 100,000 visitors every summer. The festival became meat-free and milk-free in 2013 and this year will partner with Oatly to make a 100% climate transparant event.
Cultured Meat Symposium Announces Second Annual Cell-Cultured Meat Conference Planned for November 2019
SVCMS LLC, a California-based company focused on media and networking surrounding cell-cultured meat and future food technologies, announces a conference planned for November 14th and 15th, 2019 to be held in San Francisco. In previous years, events hosted by the Cultured Meat Symposium included scientists, researchers, key industry experts, investors, and members of the traditional meat and poultry industries. The conference, called the Cultured Meat Symposium, is focused on inspiring Silicon Valley high tech investors and entrepreneurs to get involved with cell-cultured meats and future food technologies.
