Burger King UK Launches Vegan Katsu Curry Burgers

Burger King UK has added two new vegan burgers to its expanding plant-based menu. The new vegan offerings are part of a Japanese-inspired Katsu Curry range, available as of today until September 2022 in participating restaurants.  The Plant-based Katsu Chilli Whopper and the Katsu Vegan Royale feature Burger King’s signature plant-based patties with chilli sauce, crispy onion, pickled slaw and katsu curry sauce. Burger King Launches Big King Vegetal in Portugal, Debuts “Meat?” Ad Campaign

Burger King Portugal has launched a new meat-free option, the Big King Vegetal. It is the fourth plant-based menu item the fast-food chain has introduced in the country. The new burger consists of two Vegetarian Butcher patties served on toasted sesame buns with onions, lettuce, cucumber, cheese, and Burger King’s signature sauce. Though the burger is described as “100% Vegetal”, it appears that the cheese is conventional dairy, while the sauce likely contains egg mayonnaise. The other meatless options offered by Burger King Portugal are the Whopper Vegetal, Nuggets Vegetais, and Long Vegetal chicken-style sandwich. Canadian fast food chain Odd Burger announces the launch of Preposterous Foods, a new range of plant-based meat and dairy products. The company says the new line will be distributed exclusively through Sysco, the world’s largest foodservice company.  Featuring minimally processed foods made from ingredients like chickpeas, oats and wheat gluten, the Preposterous line will initially offer 10 plant-based items: meatless wings, beefy ground meat, gyro meat, breakfast sausage, and a crispy chicken burger. McDonald’s announces the fast food chain is expanding a trial of the McPlant burger to hundreds of new locations in Texas and California.  Beginning February 14, the McPlant burger will be available for a limited time on McDonald’s menus in the San Francisco Bay and Dallas-Ft.
