Havredals, a Swedish plant-based foods company, has announced a partnership with Stockholm’s burger chain Bun Meat Bun to launch a plant-based chicken burger this Veganuary.  Both companies worked together to create “a delightful and healthy alternative” to inspire and increase the number of customers choosing a plant-based meal. Chilean Plant-Based Product Sales Grew by 41% in Food Service Industry Last Year

Figures recorded by the leading Chilean food distribution company, ICB Food Service, establish that Chilean plant-based product sales spanning restaurants, cafeterias, and hotels (Horeca), grew by 41% in 2022. Vegetable-based creams (121%), vegetable drinks (73%), and butter and margarine (31%) were among the products with higher demand in the food service and hospitality sectors. According to ICB, plant-based product consumption increased by 47,000 kg last year. Among the leading brands providing meat and dairy alternatives for the Horeca channel are Ardo and NotCo, offering more than 40 items, says the Chilean distributor. Three major food service chains in the UK — Wagamama, Domino’s, and Sushi Daily — have revealed their new Veganuary menu options for 2023. Wagamama Japanese-inspired chain Wagamama is offering a vegan version of its kare lomen dish, which features udon noodles in a spicy coconut broth with plant-based teriyaki chicken. Burger King UK is celebrating Veganuary with a new plant-based Bakon King range, featuring La Vie’s bacon alternative and Violife’s vegan cheese. UK cafe chain The Breakfast Club has announced that its location on London’s Berwick Street will serve a fully meatless menu in January 2023.
