UK: Waitrose Lists its First Ever Vegan Marshmallow

Free From Fellows has secured a listing in Waitrose for their vegan marshmallows. Both the vanilla and strawberry vegan marshmallows are launching at the beginning of March in 150 Waitrose stores, marking the first time the high-end UK supermarket has listed a vegan-friendly marshmallow product. As well as being gelatine free, the marshmallows are also free from the top 14 allergens making them suitable for all consumers regardless of diet or food sensitivies. TMRW Foods to Launch in 100’s of Canadian Walmart and Loblaws Stores

Plant-based company TMRW Foods announces the company will soon debut in Walmart and Loblaws, two of Canada’s largest retail grocery chains.  The brand’s plant-based meats will arrive in 552 Loblaws and 232 Walmart locations beginning in March and April 2022, respectively. The brand says the launch will help it gain over 1,900  incremental distribution points, and create a total retail footprint of more than 1,000 Canadian stores. Based in British Columbia, TMRW sells a full range of non-GMO, soy-free plant-based meats including burgers, sausages, grounds and protein shreds.  Through the partnership, Walmart will carry the brand’s TMRW Lightly Seasoned Protein Shreds, Buffalo Protein Shreds, and BBQ Protein Shreds. Aldi UK’s plant-based sales soared by 500% last month compared to January 2021, the supermarket has reported. The increase has been attributed to the growing number of people signing up for Veganuary. Aldi launched a huge range of new vegan products to coincide with this year’s campaign, including plant-based cheese, ice cream, bacon, ready meals, brownies, and more. The increased availability of plant-based products at the supermarket may be another factor contributing to the rise in sales. Amazon Vegan Product Sales Increase by 61% in the UK

Amazon vegan product sales surge in the UK as interest in plant-based lifestyles reaches an all-time high. Amazon UK has reported that the number of vegan options available on its site has grown by 23% since 2020. Additionally, sales of plant-based products have increased by 61% year on year. Plant milks have seen a particularly large boost in popularity, with Oatly’s Original and Barista flavours coming out on top. On AmazonFresh, the most popular plant-based products are Chicago Town’s stuffed crust pizzas, Itsu Teriyaki Chicken Vegan Gyozas, and Magnum Vegan Almond ice cream. Plant-based product sales have been increasing for some time on Amazon.
