James Cromwell’s Starbucks Protest Sparks Global Conversation on Chain’s Plant-Based Milk Fees

In a widely publicized event, actor James Cromwell protested Starbucks on May 10 by supergluing his hand to a counter in one of the coffee chain’s NYC stores. Wearing an animal rights T-shirt, Cromwell and other activists demanded Starbucks end its long-standing practice of charging extra for plant-based milk options. PETA’s “10,000 McPlants in 10 Days” Campaign Boosts Sales for McDonald’s Vegan Burger

Animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) recently wrapped up a free public giveaway of McDonald’s McPlant burgers across cities in Texas and California. The promotion was designed to increase visibility and sales for the Beyond Meat-made burger, which is still in a limited testing phase. Eat the Change Awarding $500,000 in Grants to Promote Planet-Friendly Foods

Eat the Change Impact (ETC Impact), a grant program by plant-based snack company Eat the Change, is offering $500,000 in grants in 2022 to promote healthy, planet-friendly foods.  This year’s grant money is part of a total $1.385 million ETC Impact has committed to investing in change-making organizations over three years.
