Delivery Service Allplants Raises Record Sum Through Crowdfunding

British vegan food delivery service allplants, run by brothers Alex and Jonathan Petrides, raised a record sum of over £4.5 million pounds through a crowdfunding campaign on the Seedrs platform. The original target was initially 2 million pounds, but this sum was reached after only 48 hours.

Allplants finally secured another 2.5 million pounds, with a total of over 1800 investors involved. The startup had already received investments of 7.5 million pounds in September 2018.

“The crowdfunding round has far exceeded our expectations and will accelerate our growth for 2020. It’s an honour that more than 1,800 new investors are now behind our company and it reflects the rapidly growing demand for healthy and delicious plant-based meals. This latest round of financing is a real validation of what we do here at allplants – we want to inspire more people to eat plant-based food,” the founders said.

The fresh capital will be used to develop new offerings and increase production to deliver over 60,000 meals per week from the new 2000 sqm allplants production kitchen
