Impossible Foods CEO’s Kite Hill Yogurt Brand Secures $15 Million

Vegan yogurt producer Kite Hill has received around $15 million in funding, which in addition to the previous round which saw backing from General Mills, CAVU Venture Partners, and New Crop Capital, brings the total investment to around $80 million.

As we reported in July, the 2018 U.S. Food & Beverage Startup Investment Report, demonstrated that dairy alternatives were the top category in terms of financial backing, receiving a total of over $200M just last year. The three prominent companies which raised over $40M in 2018 were  Ripple, Kite Hill, and Califia Farms.

Kite Hil, founded by Impossible Foods CEO Patrick Brown along with Monte Casino and chef Tal Ronnen, produces a variety of dairy alternatives including almond milk yogurts, greek yogurts, cream cheese, ricotta, pastas, and dips.
