Banana Drink from Mooala Grows in Popularity

The vegan organic banana drink company Mooala Brands specialises in milk substitute drinks and is growing rapidly thanks to its popular range. The US company produces vegan milk substitutes made from pureed bananas and roasted sunflower seeds with cinnamon and salt. Mooala emphasises the versatile uses for its product, e.g. for smoothies, muesli, baked goods or in coffee.

Very early on, large US retailers such as Wegmans, Costco, Safeway and Whole Foods were stocking the vegan banana drink on their shelves. Now, consumers can find this vegan alternative in about 1,500 stores, and Mooala plans to expand into several grocery stores in the south-east of the United States in the near future. After two extremely successful financial years, Mooala expects the size of the company to quadruple by the end of the year. Last February, an investment of 5 million US dollars accelerated its expansion.

Mooala founder Jeff Richards takes a fun and family-friendly approach to milk substitutes. The vegan banana drink is very popular with children and young families. In addition, the existing vegan population also appreciates the availability of vegan milk alternatives. But more and more non-vegans are increasingly turning to milk alternatives. Studies by Cargill have shown that up to 50% of milk drinkers also buy plant-based milk substitutes.
