CEO Arik Kaufman Outlines Steakholder Foods’ Path to Commercial Growth in 2025

Steakholder Foods has outlined its strategic direction for 2025, with CEO Arik Kaufman providing an update on the company’s recent developments. Despite a challenging economic climate, the company has taken steps toward commercial growth, market expansion, and technological advancements.

“We remain focused on transforming the future of food production”

Over the past year, Steakholder Foods secured key purchase orders that signal movement toward establishing consistent revenue streams. Bondor Foods placed an order for the company’s SH™ – Fish premix blends, while Wyler Farm followed with an order for the SH™ – Beef premix blend. These agreements are expected to support the launch of the “Whaat Meat?! by Steakholder” product line and strengthen the company’s market presence.

“These purchase orders mark an important milestone in our commercialization journey. We anticipate that these agreements will help establish recurring revenue streams in the near future,” Kaufman stated.

The company also gained recognition at the Plant-Based World Expo in London, earning multiple awards for its alternative protein products. This acknowledgment reinforces its standing within the plant-based sector and highlights the reception of its offerings among industry professionals.

To further showcase its technology, Steakholder Foods opened a full-scale Demonstration Center, where potential partners can observe the MX200 and HD144 3D printers in action. This initiative aims to provide a tangible experience of the company’s technological capabilities and attract collaboration opportunities.

Internationally, Steakholder Foods has expanded its partnerships, including a collaboration with UMAMI Bioworks in Singapore to develop cultivated seafood and an agreement with Vegefarm Co. Ltd. in Taiwan to advance 3D printing applications. Additionally, the company’s work with ITRI, supported by SIIRD grant funding, underscores its commitment to research and development.

Entry into US market

With an increased focus on the US market, Steakholder Foods has appointed Saar Bracha to spearhead expansion efforts. The company has also engaged Nexum Group, a consulting firm specializing in strategic positioning within the food industry. As part of this initiative, Kaufman and Bracha conducted a business development tour in the United States, engaging with key industry figures. During the tour, Steakholder’s plant-based meat was prepared by chef David Burke at one of his New York City restaurants, receiving a positive reception.

“The response we received during our US visit was incredibly encouraging. The opportunity to have our products showcased by a renowned chef like David Burke reinforces our belief in the potential of our technology,” Kaufman continued.

R&D initiatives

The company’s research and development efforts remain a priority, with ongoing improvements to its Drop Location in Space (DLS) and Fused Paste Layering (FPL) technologies. Additionally, a $490,000 SIIRD grant is supporting innovation in 3D-printed hybrid fish development.

Financially, Steakholder Foods has noted a disciplined approach while continuing to invest in growth initiatives. With initial commercial agreements in place and ongoing negotiations with potential partners, the company expects to begin generating revenue in the near future.

Looking ahead, Kaufman explained that while 2024 presented obstacles, the company has emerged stronger and remains committed to advancing its commercialization efforts, expanding globally, and strengthening its position in the US market.

Kaufman concluded, “I want to extend my appreciation to our employees for their dedication and resilience during a challenging year. We remain focused on transforming the future of food production while creating long-term value for our shareholders.”
