abillion Celebrates Fifth Anniversary, Surpassing $2.8M in Donations & 1M Downloads

Sustainability platform abillion is celebrating its five-year anniversary, along with the achievement of a number of significant milestones.

The abillion app has now been downloaded a million times, while the company has broken records by donating over $2.8 million to global impact partners in more than 180 countries worldwide. These donations have helped to create impact for animals, children, and the environment.

abillion has also raised over $17 million of investment since its inception, recently closing its first ever community investment round where 290 members worldwide invested over $500,000. The company has grown by 20 times over the past two years.

“At abillion, we’re working to inspire people to discover purpose and values through the things all of us do every day,” says founder and CEO Vikas Garg. “We’ve redesigned social media and built a marketplace where the community’s actions on the abillion app translate into impact in the real world.”

“Unprecedented scale”

The abillion app was founded in 2018 with the mission of mobilizing a billion people to save the planet by making better consumer choices. Each time a user posts a review of a product or restaurant dish, they can select a non-profit partner to receive a donation from abillion. They also receive equity in the company when posting a review, with over 12,000 members from more than 100 different countries securing $273,000 in equity last year.
To celebrate the platform’s five-year anniversary, abillion is running a campaign granting $1 in impact credits to members when they invite a friend to sign up. The new member will also receive $1 in credits.
“As we look to the next five years, we’ll work to grow our movement and create impact on an unprecedented scale,” said Garg.
