Heura Announces 450% Growth in 2020 & is Fastest Growing Startup in Europe

Barcelona startup Foods For Tomorrow, producer of plantbased chicken Heura, announces its entry to Chile in June as the first step into the Latin American market, as it celebrates its third anniversary as the fastest growing European startup in the plant-based meat industry, with a 450% growth in the last year.

CEO and co-founder Marc Coloma launched Heura on Earth Day 2017 with Bernat Añaños, aiming to accelerate the change to a more sustainable food system. In just three years Añaños says that the company has already saved the equivalent of 276,643 animals since launching and that the aim is to surpass the equivalent of 1,500,000.

In January of this year, the company received financial backing from the Spanish government as part of the NEOTEC Program of the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), a program committed to sustainability. Two months later the brand announced its launch into the French market with its rollout into the Franprix supermarket chain. The Heura products are also available in Singapore in the Grand Hyatt hotel through a partnership with Green Monday.

Coloma expresses his strategy is “to continue working hard on our international expansion that has Chile as its next destination, stepping for the first time in the Latin American market this June.”
