According to CEO Josh Tetrick, the successful American startup JUST Inc., manufacturer of the plant-based egg substitute JUST Egg, could become the next listed vegan company. Tetrick told the news agency Bloomberg that JUST would go public “sometime”. “No timeline for it, but at some point we’ll do it. We’ll see that as a financing event.,” says Tetrick.
Tetrick was impressed by the extremely successful IPO of Beyond Meat. At the beginning of May, the meat alternatives manufacturer was launched on NASDAQ and recorded a price gain of 163% on the first trading day. “When we raise capital, it attracts investors to the space,” Tetrick said, “and when others have really successful IPOs, like Beyond Meat did, it brings more attention to everyone.”
Beyond Meat’s competitor Impossible Foods recently announced that it had received $300 million in a Series E financing round. Supporters included celebrities such as Serena Williams, Trevor Noah, Kirk Cousins, Katy Perry, Jaden Smith, Will.i.am and Jay-Z.
