NadaMoo! Announces New Sugar-Cane Based Sustainable Packaging in Celebration of its Fifteenth Birthday

NadaMoo! recently announced its new sustainable sugarcane-based packaging provided by Evergreen Packaging’s Sentinel™ Renewable Ice Cream Board. The new packaging is the latest sustainability milestone to be achieved by the Certified B Corporation.

Along with the new packaging, NadaMoo! customers will notice a complete brand refresh featuring the newly certified I’m Green™ logo, updated flavor and ingredient descriptions, a more visible brand logo and color, and a blue and white swirled lid. The lid’s design pays homage to the look and feel of NadaMoo!’s Scoop Shop, which has awnings inspired by ice cream parlors of the 1950s. Additionally, NadaMoo! is celebrating its fifteenth birthday creating vegan ice cream using organic coconut and environmentally-friendly farmed agave.

“We are celebrating our 15th birthday this year and thought, what better way to make an impact than by offering consumers the most sustainably packaged plant-based ice cream,” said Daniel Nicholson, president, and CEO, NadaMoo!. “Sort of a happy birthday to all of humankind, if you will.”

“The real value in the change is rooted in the fact that not only are the ingredients we source in crafting NadaMoo! done so in a sustainable way, now the components of the packaging material are also being sourced in a more sustainable manner,” added Nicholson. “It’s one of our core values to continually deliver the most delicious and environmentally friendly plant-based ice cream in the world. It really is at the heart of everything our brand stands for and has worked for since 2005.”

NadaMoo! selected Evergreen Packaging in recognition of the supplier’s sourcing of trees processed from responsibly managed forests and coating developed from sugarcane farms. Similar environmental concerns, and founding principles between the two organizations, such as the conversion of food waste for energy conservation purposes, ultimately led to the decision to work together. The lining in the new eco-friendly packaging is made with a renewable coating derived from sugarcane biomass. To ensure a seamless transition in its product offerings, NadaMoo! began testing the renewable packaging last year.

NadaMoo! is a family-owned company established in Austin, Texas in 2005 on the mission to make the world happier and healthier, one scoop at a time. The company makes its products in Texas and is dedicated to using ingredients in support of a fair, sustainable and contaminant-free food chain whenever possible. Its sixteen flavors are certified Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Non-GMO.

“When great tasting food can be curated solely by plants, we take away the arguments most typically heard from the consumer-driven solely by taste and experience,” added Nicholson. “Great tasting plant-based food becomes a win-win-win. We win on taste and experience for the consumer. We win for the health and well-being of all living creatures. We win on the sustainability of our planet.”
