Washington-based venture capital firm New Crop Capital has announced a new $100 million investment fund. The New Protein Fund will focus on vegan and clean meat to support the rapidly increasing number of people who follow a plant-based diet.
New Crop is setting up the new fund with Thailand-based food products company NR Produce Co Ltd.
The fund will invest in the advanced manufacturing and distribution of products developed by New Crop Capital-funded companies.
New Crop’s portfolio includes Beyond Meat, Good Dot, Memphis Meat, Miyoko’s Kitchen, Outstanding Foods, and Sunfed Meats, amongst others.
