Oatly is cooperating with Swiss Federal Railways SBB and is now offering special portion sizes of its oat drink in all dining carriages. The Oatly Oat Drink for Coffee and Tea portion size is the smallest format of Oatly oat drinks to date. These portion sizes offer an alternative to larger packs, aim to reduce food waste, and have been designed for use in a catering environment, Oatly explains.
Oatly becomes the first vegan milk in the SBB range and is to be offered in all 160 dining carriages. The vegan milk alternative will be available for coffee and tea at no extra charge. Following the cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, this is another milestone for Oatly and follows its mission to make the switch to plant-based foods as easy as possible.
“A clear sign of the urgently needed shift towards a more sustainable, plant-based food system”
“With SBB, we have an important new partner at our side to help us get closer to our goal of always giving people the option of choosing a plant-based option wherever they consume cow’s milk. Our new portion sizes offer us uncomplicated and independent application options. We are delighted that SBB is leading by example and has chosen Oatly as the first plant-based milk alternative on board. A clear sign of the urgently needed shift towards a more sustainable, plant-based food system! Travellers can now try oat drink, which on average has a lower climate impact than cow’s milk,” says Svenja Fritz, managing director of Oatly DACH & Poland.
Seeking further partnerships for new product format
Oatly is planning to expand its cooperation beyond its partnership with Swiss Federal Railways. The company is aiming to integrate its convenient portion sizes into the offerings of other partners in order to give consumers the opportunity to refine hot drinks with an oat drink anywhere – whether on the railway, in the air, in a hotel or in the office.
In the UK, the 20ml milk alternative will be listed with leading foodservice wholesalers from April, as Emma Jones, Senior National Account Manager- Foodservice at Oatly, announced on LinkedIn.
