The Very Good Food Company Inc. Announces Increased Distribution, Expansion, and Brand-New Products

The emerging Canadian plant-based food technology company, which recently became the second plant meat IPO, reveals it will significantly scale its distribution network, which has already been expanded by over 30%.

The Very Good Butchers Brand will be opening an additional 25 stores, the result of a new agreement with Nesters Market and Buy-Low Foods.

An agreement with Sobeys Inc. has also become active and includes distribution in 30 Thrifty Foods stores in Alberta and British Colombia. In total, this represents 55 stores, which means the company will go from having 150 to over 200 locations.

Mitchell Scott, the company’s CEO, stated the following in a press release:  “The Thrifty Foods agreement represents a particularly exciting milestone for the Company, as it opens up the potential for significant expansion across the 1500 store network operated by Sobeys. We are thrilled to have the support from one of North America’s largest grocery chains as we look to rapidly scale from coast to coast.”

With regards to new product launches,  The Very Good Food Company (VGFC) will be rolling out two new meat alternative products, Very Good Pepperoni and Very Good Hotdogs, under The Very Good Butchers brand, adding to the company’s tasty portfolio of plant-based foods.

VGFC has also added a new member to the team. Olga Millman will be taking the role of Director of Process and Engineering Operations. She has over 14 years of experience in the food and pharmaceutical industries and most recently with meat-alternative company Garden Protein International (Gardein).
