Daniela Degrassi, founder and editor of The Kind Bride, a blog community focused on plant-based weddings, says that “vegan weddings are at a turning point and becoming a fast rising global trend” and is launching the first completely plant-based wedding fair to take this September in Los Angeles.
With veganism establishing itself as a permanent lifestyle choice for people around the world, the demand for plant-based products and services has skyrocketed in the past few years, with Los Angeles being particularly receptive to veganism. LA is among the top US cities for veganism; in 2019 the city banned the sale of fur, hosted the first Vegan Fashion Week and is now preparing to host the first ever Vegan Bridal Fair.
Vegan brides and grooms will finally have a place to call their own. San Francisco based Daniela Degrassi, former wedding photographer and founder of vegan wedding resource blog and online community ”The Kind Bride”, and Los Angeles based Laura Frecon, founder of the eco-luxury lifestyle platform and marketplace Verte Luxe and curator of many eco conscious events, both have recognized the need to provide resources for the rising amount of couples that choose to marry vegan-style.
Ms Degrassi says, “With Kind Bride I found a perfect way to give back to the wedding industry and engage in a gentle activism encouraging and supporting vegan couples planning a vegan wedding. I am well aware of how stressful planning a wedding can be and how complicated it gets to please everyone else whilst trying to conceive your own idea of a perfect day. Imagine that struggle multiplied by a crazy number if you’re vegan! I wanted to give vegan couples some piece of mind and a sense of normalcy when entering a wedding expo, and meet suppliers that are familiar with the nuances of a plant-based lifestyle.”
The LUXE AND KIND BRIDAL BOUTIQUE and Pop Up will take place at the Bel Air Tree House, a plant-based biodynamic hotel in the heart of Los Angeles. The first 100 couples purchasing Early Bird tickets now available throughout July at a discounted price via Eventbrite will receive complimentary gift bags.
