• New Trade Fair Organic Food Iberia to Take Place in 2019

In June 2018, Diversified Communications UK, a leading international exhibitions organiser, announced the launch of its two new exhibitions Organic Food Iberia and Eco Living Iberia at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid. The two separate but joint events will come under the umbrella of Natural & Organic Products. They will take place from June 6 to 7, 2019. vegconomist will be present in June to report on exhibitors and new products.

Organic Food Iberia is an exciting new trade event dedicated to promoting the organic food and wine industry. The new fair is being organised and promoted in close consultation with the organic industry and aims to establish itself as the most important networking, education, and business event of the year. Both Organic Food and Eco Living are partnership projects between Diversified Communications UK and IFEMA – Feria de Madrid, one of Europe’s most prominent organisers.

Spain as an important region for organic products

The launch of Organic Food Iberia is the direct result of requests for a high-profile international trade fair for the Iberian Peninsula that adequately reflects the importance of the region at an international level. Spain dedicates more land to organic farming than any other country in Europe – a total area of 2 million hectares. This makes Spain the largest organic producer in Europe and the fourth-largest in the world, with over 40,000 farms in this sector.

Consumption of organic products in Spain has been growing rapidly for several years, with an annual growth rate of around 20%. Moreover, food exports are one of the most important economic factors in the country. The export of organic wine also recorded a significant growth rate of 2.5% last year.
