The Vegan Women Summit (VWS) announces it is launching The VWS Top Chef Challenge, a new cooking competition to find America’s best plant-based female chef. Taking place in New York City on May 19th, the Top Chef Challenge aims to showcase the talents of women in the food industry, and will feature judges from plant-based companies Impossible Foods, Wicked Kitchen and TiNDLE.
Creating top dishes
According to VWS, the Top Chef Challenge will invite three female chefs from across the US to display their culinary talents by preparing their best plant-based dishes using ingredients from the participating brands. The dishes will be judged by top executives Leslie Sims, CMO of Impossible Foods; Pete Speranza, CEO of Wicked Kitchen; and Andre Menezes, CEO of TiNDLE.
The winner will be crowned live at The Vegan Women Summit, taking place May 18 – 20 in NYC.
Returning to NYC
In addition to the Top Chef Challenge, VWS is planning multiple new events for its 2023 Summit, which is the organization’s largest event to date. The Summit, which is open to all genders, will feature over 100 speakers and brand activations from across the food, fashion and beauty industries, along with expanded networking and professional development sessions.
This year, the Summit is being welcomed by NYC Mayor Eric Adams, who will host a VIP reception at the Mayor’s Mansion. The 2023 gathering also includes the winners of the event’s first-ever public choice speaker competition.
