On August 22nd, 2018, World Plant Milk Day (WPMD), a collaborative event by Plant Based News and ProVeg International, will take place once again. To this end, another “Thunderclap campaign” has been launched, offering all supporters the opportunity to network on social media and spread the message about plant-based milk alternatives.
Together, the two organisations are drawing attention to World Plant Milk Day. The primary purpose of WPMD is to increase consumer awareness. WPMD shows the various advantages of plant-based milk substitutes, in particular the health and environmental aspects. A year earlier, WPMD Thunderclap had over 2,400 supporters on Twitter. This year, thanks to the increasing number of vegans, even more participants are expected.
Thunderclap’s data dissemination method allows all supporters to disseminate the message via Twitter or Facebook. On the day, Thunderclap will create an automated post of the user’s choice, which in turn will be distributed via several social media platforms. The increasing popularity of plant-based milk substitute drinks and veganism has made this event very prominent on social media, which ultimately will generate more participants. In this sense, the campaign’s message is: “Milk consumption is falling and plant-based milk substitutes are growing – why not be one of the millions of people around the world who are choosing this exciting alternative?”
