BIOFACH, the world’s largest trade fair for organic food and agriculture, is set to take place from February 11-14, 2025, in Nuremberg, Germany. The event will feature over 2,700 exhibitors and attract approximately 46,700 trade visitors from around 130 countries.
The event will provide a platform for industry stakeholders to explore the latest developments in organic food and sustainability. From plant-based agriculture and compostable packaging to vegan product innovation, the event showcases the shifting landscape of the organic sector and its adaptation to environmental and consumer demands.

Biocyclic Vegan Farming: Expanding sustainable agriculture
Biocyclic Vegan International will present its approach to organic agriculture, which excludes animal husbandry and animal-derived fertilizers. Instead, the method leverages plant-based cycles, composting, and humus buildup to maintain soil health. The organization will be present at Hall 9, Stand 9-541, where representatives will discuss the principles of biocyclic vegan farming. Additionally, at Hall 7, Stand 7-751, attendees can explore a selection of certified biocyclic vegan products, including olive oils, wines, fruits, and vegetables.
The organization will also participate in the “Experience the World of Planetary Health” event stage, hosting three cooking demonstrations featuring dishes prepared with biocyclic vegan ingredients. A panel discussion titled “Biocyclic Vegan Farming – Building Bridges Between the Urban Vegan Boom and Rural Economies” will address the sector’s opportunities and challenges.

Bio4Pack to showcase compostable packaging
Bio4Pack, a European packaging company specializing in compostable materials, will present its latest product lineup in response to the European Union’s increasing efforts to reduce plastic waste. The EU generated 83.4 million tonnes of packaging waste in 2022, with plastic accounting for 36.1 kg per capita, an increase of 7.6 kg since 2012.
Bio4Pack’s portfolio includes paddy trays, biobags, flowpacks, foils, and nettings, all designed to meet international compostability standards such as EN 13432. A key highlight at BIOFACH 2025 will be the company’s high-barrier films and laminates, suitable for products such as crisps, grains, tea, and coffee.
Patrick Gerritsen, CEO of Bio4Pack said, “We are encouraged to see growing interest from forward-thinking brands at BIOFACH in eco-friendly solutions for organic food packaging as a substitute for conventional plastic. With the expansion of our portfolio and enhanced capabilities of our materials, we aim to empower businesses with innovative compostable packaging that helps reduce plastic waste while meeting evolving regulations.”
Bio4Pack will be exhibiting in Hall 5, Booth 5-111.

VIVANI Marks 25 Years with Vegan Chocolate Innovations
VIVANI, the organic chocolate brand, will celebrate its 25th anniversary at BIOFACH 2025 with a range of new product releases, including a vegan chocolate bar. The Whole Cocoa Fruit bar is made without added sugar, using dried cocoa pulp flakes to provide natural sweetness. The launch increases the accessibility of parent company EcoFinia’s dairy-free chocolate options, which include sister company iChoc, which is entirely vegan.
VIVANI will also host an anniversary celebration at its booth (Hall 7-122), featuring a special cake, a quiz, and cocoa juice cocktails. The event coincides with a management transition, as Noel Meyer takes over operational leadership from company founder Andreas Meyer.
“Even as a small child, I was surrounded by chocolate every day, allowed to try and evaluate new varieties and watch the creation of the works of art. Now, being primarily responsible for managing this brand and making it fit for the future is not only a long-held dream but also a life’s work,” said Noel Meyer.
