Adidas Releases New Sports Shoes Made with Ocean Plastic

Adidas is working in collaboration with Parley Ocean Plastic, an organisation which collects plastic from beaches and coastal towns. The multinational sports corporation says, “If we want to survive as a planet and as a species, we need to tackle the rising tide of plastic trash.”

“At Adidas, we’re working with Parley to fight against the plastic pollution that is choking our oceans by using plastic trash collected from remote beaches and coastal communities as the raw material for an entire range of sportswear.

The most recent launch through the Adidas collaboration with Parley is called the Terrex Two. The upper is created from recycled plastic all collected from shores and coastal towns.

“Through our collaboration with Parley, we want to inspire and mobilize an entire generation to help shape the future of the planet,” says Eric Liedtke, Adidas Executive Board Member Global Brands.
