Beauty Industry Turns to Cruelty-Free as Three Major Players Release Vegan Product Lines

News this week from Marks and Spencer (UK) and Aldi (Ireland) who have both launched new skincare ranges to meet demand in the vegan market. And in the US, Revlons’ new Total Color is the brand’s first animal-free permanent hair color and uses cannabis oil instead as an enriching agent.

The new unique Total Color formula from Revlon avoids some traditional ingredients like ammonia, parabens, sulfates, silicones, mineral oil, phthalates and gluten, and instead the company has enriched their product with Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed oil. Revlon Total Color is available in 16 shades for $7.99 at drug/mass retailers nationwide and Revlon.com.

In the UK, Marks and Spencer is offering a complete cruelty-free, vegan, no-frills skincare range called PURE, which features an array of items including face serums, hot cloth cleanser, eye cream and toner, with all the formulas made up of at least 95% of naturally derived ingredients that are free from artificial colours and fragrance. Items are priced between £7 and £18, with the more expensive items being the serums and oil treatments.

Aldi Ireland’s latest range from Lacura means that now Irish shoppers can enjoy a quality beauty regime that contains 100% naturally derived ingredients, it’s Bunny certified and kind to sensitive skin. Aldi is renowned for its affordability so this is great news of those conscious shoppers on a budget. The range of products is available at 140 Aldi stores now January while stocks last.
