The new Danish brand elliott footwear, launched on April 23rd what it calls ‘a climate positive trainer collection’ in time for the summer. Elliott is marketing a collection of trainers (sports shoes) made from materials that are vegan and recyclable, claiming that one pair of elliot trainers removes one metric tonne of CO2 emissions. The goal of the brand is to challenge the fashion industry in what it means to be climate friendly. The collection will initially be exclusively available through the crowd-funding platform IndieGoGo, enabling elliott to quickly reach a broad audience and access a large customer base of climate conscious consumers.
Mikkel Bang, founder and lead designer of elliott footwear stated for the press release in Digital Journal: “We are incredibly pleased to provide all the consumers out there who care deeply for the environment and fashion a new choice of footwear. In the past year we have researched and gone through numerous iterations of our collection. Now we are finally ready with a product born from a fundamental passion for climate and design.”
