Dr Martens Sees 70% Rise in Sales Since Vegan Line

Dr Martens’ vegan line, includes brogues, shoes and of course the world famous boots in various colours, using polyurethane, a plastic-based leather alternative said to resemble animal leather.  Other footwear brands turning to vegan leather options to great success include Birkenstock, Vans, and Reebok. Last month we reported that the most searched items on fashion search engine Lyst are vegan sneakers.

Dr Martens’ revenue was reportedly up 30% to £454.4m from £348.6m in the year to March 2018, with retail sales up by 30% to £126.7m and e-commerce by 67% to £72.7m.
