Reebok will launch a new plant-based running shoe in cooperation with Siena Farms from early October. The company had already announced the shoe in December 2019 and has now published a fixed date for the launch. The new sports shoes are called ‘Forever Floatride GLOW’ and are apparently part of its sustainability strategy.
Reebok’s latest innovation is available from today both in-store and online retail. In addition to the shoes and in keeping with the theme, buyers will receive a box full of vegetables from solidarity farming.
The new performance shoes are mainly made of castor bean, algae foam, natural rubber and eucalyptus tree. The eucalyptus tree upper is biodegradable and the padded midsole is made from sustainable castor beans. The algae foam insert is made from sustainable crops and the outsole is made from natural rubber from real rubber trees.
