A Dozen Fashion Labels Including Calvin Klein Ban Fur Because “Future of Fashion is Vegan”

Following discussions with PETA, Hong Kong’s Global Brands Group—which owns Aquatalia and licenses more than a dozen brands, including Calvin Klein, Juicy Couture, Katy Perry, Karen Millen, Taryn Rose, and AllSaints, has banned the use of fur.

PETA Director Elisa Allen said that GBG’s decision shows that “the future of fashion is vegan.”

“PETA applauds Global Brands Group for its compassionate and business-savvy decision to ban fur, which shows that the future of fashion is vegan,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman in a press release. “PETA urges all retailers to meet the rising demand for luxurious, cruelty-free alternatives or be shunned by ethical shoppers, who simply don’t want animals to be abused and killed for coats, collars, or cuffs.”

Other fashion labels banning fur in recent times include Prada and Burberry.
