Changing Markets: Demand for Vegan Cosmetics Continues to Grow

According to a recent market report, demand for vegan cosmetic products is continuing to grow. The work of vegan brand ambassadors and influencers, including celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez, has had a major impact on this trend.

According to the report, 3.5 million consumers from Great Britain and 1.6 million from the USA alone are choosing vegan cosmetics. The report shows that vegan beauty products are particularly affected by rising demand.

The transformation of modern marketing has also promoted this development; the power of influencers and brand ambassadors can be clearly seen. In 2017 alone, 88 billion viewers watched videos on make-up or other beauty-related topics. In contrast, the figure in 2010 was just 4 billion. This highlights changes in marketing methods for (vegan) beauty products.

Overall, the developments are advantageous for vegan cosmetics, as more and more celebrities bring their own lines onto the market. Kat von D, for example, is very strongly committed to the development of vegan, animal-free cosmetic products. She has launched 16 vegan beauty products, and recently released her new collection of vegan make-up utensils. Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury has also created a range of 40 different vegan products for this growing market.

Besides the famous personalities in the industry, the “Body Shop” has been offering completely animal-free toiletries since 1976 and is very committed to the cause. Just recently, the long-established brand launched a campaign to prevent animal testing, and called for radical change in the beauty industry.
