NAE Launches Sustainable Footwear Line in Collaboration With PETA

Portuguese brand NAE Vegan Shoes announces the launch of a limited-edition PETA x NAE collection of Vegan Goodyear Welted Desert Boots, available in black and sage green. NAE (No Animal Exploitation) uses natural and ecological materials, and focuses on ethical manufacture of footwear “designed for the consumer and their daily comfort.”

NAE says it proposes a fair and animal-friendly alternative against human exploitation and respect to the environment, offering quality footwear with increased responsibility towards the environment. In the making of the desert boots, NAE used the Goodyear welting method — one of the most durable methods of footwear construction.

The PETA x NAE ankle boots are a unisex design created with sustainable materials, including organic cotton, coconut fibre, natural rubber, and cork. The insole is made out of coconut fibers and natural rubber, lined with cork laminate, which makes it anti-microbial.

NAE states that working with organisations such as PETA is very important to them.  “The fashion industry is one of the biggest causes of animal suffering and it causes a massive impact in the environment, and for that reason is our responsibility to support organizations like PETA to help animals and the planet.”

The PETA x  NAE boots are 145€, available for purchase at www.nae-vegan.com with a percentage of sales from the collection going toward PETA’s work to help animals used in the clothing industry.
