Topshop Presents its Own Vegan Shoe Collection

The international fashion store Topshop has recently launched its first vegan shoe collection. The line comprises twelve new models in six different styles, including festival-style sandals, high heels, elegant snake-skin mules, retro sandals, and other summer styles.

All designs in the new collection are manufactured in Spain. Topshop has made sure that the adhesive is 100% animal-free and the packaging is completely vegan. As a result, the shoe line has also successfully qualified for the PETA label and received the associated certification.

With its vegan shoe collection, Topshop is responding to growing demand from its customers. “We are excited to see how customers react to our collection and how we can introduce more vegan products into our overall range,” says Maddy Evans, Fashion Director at Topshop.

Topshop also attracted attention last year with a vegan garment; in the autumn, the fashion chain launched a vegan faux fur coat. Topshop promoted the piece of ultra-soft velvet as the “coat of your dreams”. In March last year, the fashion retailer also began stocking a pink T-shirt with the word “vegan” printed under an image of a dinosaur. Topshop also announced last year that it would no longer be using mohair wool. The company intends to phase out all mohair products by 2020.

Other major fashion houses have also recognised that they must take measures to improve sustainability. Cheap prices and fast fashion are no longer enough for young consumers. H&M, for example, has responded to this demand by introducing a sustainable pineapple leather collection.
