Costco Wholesale®, the world’s largest retailer of organic foods, will be selling the newly vegan Don Lee Farms burgers and bites. The news comes weeks after Don Lee announced distribution deals with Publix stores and Kroger markets, where the burgers are stocked alongside meat products.
Don Lee Farms confirmed that its popular fresh Organic Veggie Burgers and Organic Veggie Bites sold at Costco® are going 100% plant-based. The new plant-based formulas will replace Don Lee Farms®’ current vegetarian items sold in the fresh deli section at Costco Wholesale®. The newly vegan burgers and bites are formulated with organic plant-based ingredients, including organic veggies and organic sunflower seeds. The new formulas are gluten-free, vegan, plant-based, gmo-free, free from artificial ingredients and organic certified.
“We introduced our first fresh veggie burger in 2005. The success we have had since hasn’t led us to be complacent,” said Donald Goodman, President, Don Lee Farms. He continued, “We push forward with continuous innovation in all categories we sell in and have a determined focus to continue our lead in the organic plant-based space.”
The family-owned food company, named by Women’s Health® as one of the best veggie burger brands, according to nutritionists, also recently announced global expansion into 15 countries across Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
