UK consumers can now receive vegan food delivery boxes containing products from leading vegan brands including Squeaky Bean, Vivera, Mummy Meagz, Minor Figures and Vadasz direct to their door, thanks to a new home delivery initiative from Foodchain – an app which usually supplies restaurants.
The Squeaky Bean Plant Based Box can be ordered directly from Foodchain’s app and delivered to homes.
Anastasia Emmanuel of Foodchain said: “Before the crisis we were working with over 500 restaurants – when we launched the consumer delivery option in late March, we received over 25,000 new sign-ups in the first two weeks alone. We’re seeing a shift in consumer buying behaviour and we hope to see this continue post crisis. We are excited about increasing the diversity of our offering with products such as the new Squeaky Bean Plant Based Box, which means we are now able to cater to those following a plant-based diet, as well as consumers considering their choices more carefully during this time.”

Barry Brazier, Senior Commercial Manager at Winterbotham Darby, which owns the Squeaky Bean and Vadasz brands and partners with Vivera in the UK, commented: “Our total meat-free value sales since lockdown started have exceeded pre-Covid levels by 40%, and by over 90% in some SKUs. However, the majority of these sales have been directly from supermarkets, and we have also received comments from consumers who were struggling to secure online deliveries, or couldn’t get to the shops in person due to health concerns or other reasons.
The Squeaky Bean Plant Based Box is currently being delivered within the M25 and parts of Hertfordshire, with plans to expand deliveries nationwide in the future.
