Brazilian alt meat brand Future Farm has launched a new and improved version of its plant-based Future Burger in the UK.
Described as “revolutionary”, the soy and pea-based Future Burger 4.0 has the same amount of protein as its predecessor, but is gluten-free and lower in salt and saturated fat. Future Farm’s True Texture Technology™ is used to give the burger an authentically meat-like texture, and the product is also entirely carbon-neutral.
“We are constantly evolving the product range based on consumer feedback”
The Future Burger 4.0 is now available at 345 Tesco stores, along with the brand’s tuna alternative, Future Tvna. This marks the first time that Future Farm products have been stocked at the UK’s largest supermarket chain, after they previously launched at Sainsbury’s and Ocado.
Global brand
Just a few years after it first launched in Brazil, Future Farm now has a presence in numerous countries worldwide, rolling out at US retailers including Sprouts Farmers Market and Amazon Fresh last year. The brand also expanded to Australia in 2022, launching at 700 Coles stores.
In 2021, a previous iteration of the Future Burger won The Grocer’s Best Vegan & Plant Burger award in the UK. Future Farm has now revealed that it plans to expand beyond alt meat into various other categories, including milk alternatives, plant-based cheese, and vegan honey.
“At Future Farm, we are constantly evolving the product range based on consumer feedback,” said Jack Read, EMEA APAC sales director at Future Farm. “Alongside the health benefits, we know taste is important to our customers. The Burger 4.0 allows people to enjoy a tasty, succulent burger which is a healthier choice than other options on the market.”
