Planted Presents Plant-Based Whole Muscle Steak at SIAL Paris, Announces Listings in French Retail and Food Service

Swiss food tech company Planted has announced that it will be exhibiting at this year’s SIAL Paris.

With ‘planted.steak’, Planted has developed a plant-based steak that is already available for consumers in many European restaurants. Following its successful launch in food service, it is now also available in retail outlets in Switzerland at Coop and in Germany at REWE. The steak will be presented to the international trade public at this year’s SIAL Paris in October.

“Our planted.steak is crafted to satisfy even the most discerning palate, no matter if cooked at home or in a restaurant. This is a real game changer – not just for us, but for the entire industry. No other plant-based steak uses only natural ingredients, no additives and is characterized by such umami flavour, juiciness and tenderness.

“The planted.steak isn’t just a culinary innovation; it’s a scalable sustainable solution to the environmental challenges posed by traditional meat production, especially beef production. Creation of the planted.steak needs 97 % less CO2e emissions per product weight compared to its animal counterpart.

“In general, SIAL is a great place to exhibit, and delight attendees with our range whilst showing the variety of uses for our meat alternatives.”

On-site, the Planted team will be demonstrating various recipes and applications. The recipes on show will include simple and more sophisticated variations for the catering industry.
