Organic Valley Enters Plant-Based Market with Organic Oat Creamers

Organic Valley, the cooperative recognized for its organic dairy products, has announced the nationwide release of its first plant-based product line: Organic Valley Oat Creamers. These oat-based creamers, crafted with oats sourced directly from the cooperative’s US organic family farms, are part of a strategic expansion into the plant-based market.

“We know consumers care about where their food comes from”

The new creamers, available in four flavors—vanilla, caramel, cinnamon spice, and oatmeal cookie—will hit grocery store shelves across the US this month. Each serving contains 30 calories and is designed to provide a smooth, creamy texture for coffee and tea drinkers. The products are free of dairy, nuts, and lactose, offering an option for consumers with specific dietary preferences or restrictions.

Laurie Drake, Organic Valley’s vice president of marketing, explained the cooperative’s commitment to diversifying its product offerings while maintaining its focus on quality and sustainability. “We’re excited to introduce the new Organic Valley Oat Creamers because we know that many of our loyal Organic Valley milk buyers also purchase plant-based beverages, which makes it a natural evolution for our cooperative,” Drake stated.

Direct sourcing from organic farms

A defining feature of the new creamers is their direct sourcing model. The oats used in the creamers are grown on Organic Valley’s own organic family farms, primarily located in the Midwest. This region’s climate is well-suited for growing oats, with its cool, dry conditions supporting sustainable farming practices.

According to Organic Valley, the oats are cultivated without genetically modified organisms (GMOs), toxic pesticides, or herbicides, adhering to USDA organic standards. The cooperative works closely with its farmers to ensure that the oats meet high-quality standards and are grown in alignment with sustainable agricultural practices.

“We know consumers care about where their food comes from. By sourcing organic oats from our own family farms, we know our product from crop to carton,” Drake said.

Expanding product innovation

The introduction of Organic Valley Oat Creamers is part of the cooperative’s mission to support regional farm diversity and promote sustainable agriculture. The company highlights that each purchase of its products, including the oat creamers, contributes to the preservation of organic family farms.

Organic Valley Oat Creamers will be sold in 32-ounce cartons and will be available at grocery stores across the United States starting this month.
