Southern California inspired snack brand, Modern Pop, will be launching its avocado-based frozen fruit bars in July. The frozen snacks are refined sugar-free, vegan, non-GMO, and dairy-free. Available in three flavors that include Chocolate Oh Fudge, Mint Trip, and Cookies n’ Dream, this new line will offer an indulgent but healthy treat.

According to the Modern Pop website, husband and wife founders, Brad and Julie Podolec, were inspired to create the bars while searching for a low-sugar, fruit-based snack for their teething child. The options available had sugar levels equivalent to a can of soda, contained very little fruit and ingredients that they did not recognize. Instead of giving up, they decided to create their own.

Committed to ‘putting fruit first’, the original line of frozen fruit bars are just 45 to 60 calories and contain only whole fruit, water, juice, and agave. VegNews reports that the bars will be available in six west coast divisions of the Ohio based supermarket chain, Kroger.

We published an article about Cado, which was the first manufacturer of avocado-based ice cream to launch in Summer 2018. The fat and creaminess of avocados make it a natural choice for vegan ice cream. It also offers a healthy alternative to consumers who suffer from nut and soy allergies.
