OGGS Launches Convenience Packs of Vegan Mini Cupcakes at Tesco Express

British plant-based bakery brand OGGS has launched new, smaller packs of its vegan mini cupcakes at 200 Tesco Express stores nationwide.

The products were previously only sold in packs of nine, but the new trays contain six cupcakes to make them more conveniently sized. Available in vanilla and chocolate flavours, the treats are made with aquafaba instead of eggs, with each one coming in at under 100 calories. They are packaged in 100% recycled plastic.

Claiming to be the UK’s top plant-based bakery brand, OGGS has a range of products available, including lemon, chocolate fudge, and Victoria sponge cakes. Millionaire and brownie bites are also on offer, and the brand launched luxury mince pies over the Christmas period.

OGGS also offers two egg alternatives — aquafaba, which can be used in baking, and Scrambled OGGS. The latter is said to be the UK’s best-performing egg alternative, proving so popular at supermarket chain Sainsbury’s that it has been rolled out at almost every store.

OGGS claims that it has so far saved over three million eggs and enough CO2e to drive around the world 100 times. The company says its mission is to remove “unnecessary and unethical egg products” from the supply chain.

“With convenience bouncing back post-Covid, we saw the need for a format of our bestseller catering to key occasions of this channel,” said Lydia Stuart-Kregor, head of strategy and marketing at OGGS. “Our new six-pack is the perfect size for a grab-and-go permissible treat, whether you’re popping in for some lunch, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a late-night snack. Share a pack with a friend or scoff them all yourself, we won’t judge.”
