The Meatless Farm Company Announces Partnership with NYC Restaurant Pomodoro Rosso

UK-based The Meatless Farm Co has announced a partnership with New York City eatery, Pomodoro Rosso. The iconic Upper West Side Italian restaurant, made famous by popular sitcom, Seinfeld, will be the first in the US to add Meatless Farm’s plant-based ingredients to its menu.

Consumers can now order from the restaurant’s ‘Meatless Monday’ menu. Pomodoro’s signature Italian dishes have been re-imagined with 100% plant-based ground in place of traditional meat. The new menu features Meatless Lasagna, Gnocchi Bolognese, Penne Bolognese, Classic Meatless Meatballs, Stuffed Meatless Meatballs, and Wood Fired Pizzetta with Meatless Crumbles.

“The restaurant scene was the natural next step for Meatless Farm following our fast-growth in grocery stores across the globe. Our partnership with Meatless Farm is the perfect way to do that,” said Peter Condouris, owner of Pomodoro. “Our new Meatless Mondays not only allow us to offer more options to vegetarians and vegans, but we’re able to share with our other customers, who are meat-eaters, that substituting a plant-based alternative doesn’t have to sacrifice the taste of a dish.”

Pomodoro Rosso was founded in 1993 in Manhattan and is known by Seinfeld fans as the “breakup restaurant” of main characters George and Kramer. In October, it piloted a new meatless menu with a mixed group of influential NYC vegans, vegetarians, and self-proclaimed meat-eaters. And based on the success of the trial, restaurateur Peter Condouris designed a comprehensive menu, which will coincide with the restaurant’s regular menu each Monday.

The Meatless Farm Co. launched in 2018 and produces plant-based proteins that include burger patties, meatless ground, and sausage. It has since expanded into Europe, Canada, and the UAE. Its plant-based burgers are available in 880 JD Wetherspoon locations in the UK. And in 2019, it entered the US market through a partnership with Whole Foods Market and is available in 450 locations nationwide.
