Upton’s Naturals, famous for popularising jackfruit and the first brand to produce flavoured seitan in the US, is bringing its popular flavoured seitan products to the European marketplace. The brand also runs Upton’s Breakroom, a vegan factory café in Chicago, and is a founding board member of the Plant Based Foods Association.
Located in Chicago, Upton’s Naturals is an independently-owned natural foods company with a focus on meat alternatives and vegan values. The Upton’s team pioneered flavoured seitan and kick-started the jackfruit food trend in the US with its first-to-market lineup of pre-seasoned, heat-and-eat young jackfruit. Along with the brand’s new offerings including a Ch’eesy Mac lineup and vegan Meal Kits, Upton’s Naturals products are now sold in over 5,000 stores in the US and have launched in 15 countries worldwide.
The products now rolling out in the UK are as follows:
- Italian Seitan: This savory, minced vegan sausage feature a classic combination of garlic, oregano, onion and fennel can be used as a pizza topping, mixed into pasta, or enjoyed as breakfast sausage.
- Bacon Seitan: This thinly sliced, smoky seitan has a deep, hickory flavour and meaty texture. Without all the cholesterol and excess fat associated with its pig counterpart, this seitan is perfect for creating a vegan BLT or crumbling over salads.
- Chorizo Seitan: Seasoned with guajillo chilis, garlic, oregano, and cumin, this mildly spicy, minced seitan adds bold, complex flavours to recipes and is ideal for tacos and piled high on nachos or a spiced breakfast fry up.

Upton’s Naturals’ seitan is launching at Holland & Barrett locations in the UK and is available to conventional, natural and specialty retailers in the UK and throughout Europe to carry.
