Chris Finazzo, president of Burger King North America, declined to share any specific numbers about foot traffic or sales in an interview, however he noted that the Impossible Whopper has been bringing in new customers to the chain. Burger King restaurants testing the burger have been drawing people who usually shop at Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and Panera Bread, according to CNBC.
Vegan, meatless burgers are becoming more popular with meat-eating consumers in the US. According to market researcher NPD Group, 95% of the buyers who purchased a plant-based burger this year also ate meat.
