Hot on the heels of the announcement last week that UK-based brand Mummy Meagz has launched a dairy-free crème egg, is the news that the vegan confectionary company is to release two new vegan Rocky Road Bars, also through Holland & Barrett.
The new bars come in two flavours: Original – “Gooey, crunchy and chocolatey” with marshmallows, and Sea Salt & Cinder Toffee – described by its producers as, “Like a crunchie bar jumped into a rocky road, kicked out the fruit and nuts and added a sprinkle of sea salt.”
Both variants in the Rocky Road range are gluten-free and approved by the Vegan Society. All products in the range are GM free and contain only palm oil considered sustainable by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). The Rocky Road bars are available to retailers in 12x55g bar packs, at a recommended retail price (RRP) of £1.49.
Meagan Boyle, co-founder of Mummy Meagz, said: “Rocky Road bars are loved all around the world. But sadly the inclusion of nuts, standard marshmallows – which often contain gelatine – and dairy-based chocolate means they cannot be enjoyed by everyone. I’m changing that with our range of delicious Rocky Road bars, each crafted to a recipe that means even more people can delight in them regardless of dietary requirements or preference.”
She also stated: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Holland & Barrett, following on from the launch of our vegan Chuckie Egg into their stores nationwide from 22nd January.”
