Plant-Based Restaurant Chain Copper Branch Plans Fiftieth Store Opening

Copper Branch, the world’s largest 100% plant-based restaurant chain, has recently announced that it will reach its target of 50 stores by Earth Day 2019 (April 22nd). Additionally, it is planning to open another 15 new restaurants across North America.

The Montreal-based company is currently expanding globally and will launch in New York City’s Greenwich Village/SOHO district this April. In Canada, Copper Branch will open five locations in Montreal, two in Toronto and Calgary, and one each in Quebec City, Ottawa, New Brunswick and Vancouver in March and April.

Rio Infantino, CEO of Copper Branch, commented on the expansion plans and the importance of reaching the 50 restaurant milestone: “Copper Branch’s expansion has always been our focus as we continue to change the way plant-based foods are perceived and consumed around the world. Furthermore, through initiatives such as the Rainforest Trust and One Tree Planted, we want to help protect our planet and our ecosystems.” Stefano Ferri, Chief Officer of Global Operations at Copper Branch, said the company’s goal is to have over 200 sites in the US and Europe by 2020.

Copper Branch is working with the Rainforest Trust to help conserve the world’s fragile and vitally important rainforests. Andrew Infantino, the company’s Global Director Of Marketing, said: “It was extremely important to find the right partner in order to have a positive and sustainable impact on our planet. Rainforest Trust was a logical choice.”
