Neat Burger, the plant-based burger chain by F-1 champion Lewis Hamilton, has opened its first permanent US restaurant. Located in NYC, the opening is part of the chain’s plans to open 30 additional outlets around the globe in the coming years, following the success of its eight UK locations.
“We can’t get over the plant-powered energy of today”
Situated in the Nolita neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, the first US-based Neat Burger offers a menu of plant-based burgers, chick’n sandwiches, hot dogs, tater tots, fries and milkshakes. For the grand opening, Neat Burger offered free burgers to the first 100 guests, and reports it received a huge response, with hundreds of guests lining up to celebrate the occasion.
The Nolita restaurant follows Neat Burger’s six-month temporary pop-up location in UrbanSpace on Park Avenue. The company’s US expansion is backed by actor and environmental advocate Leonardo DiCaprio, who became a strategic investor in Neat Burger in 2022.
Expansion plans
Founded in 2019, Neat Burger has eight restaurants in the UK and one in Dubai, UAE, with plans for dozens more in Italy and the Middle East. Upon the company’s Series B raise in 2022, it had a reported valuation of $100M.
“The response to Neat Burger since we opened has been incredible,” said Hamilton in a press release. “I’m really proud of the boundaries we have been able to push in this space, and the plans for expansion are really exciting.”
Major turnout
“We can’t get over the plant-powered energy of today,” Neat Burger posted on social media. “SO MANY (literally hundreds!) of you came to celebrate our grand opening. It means the absolute world that you’re joining the mission to make plant-based food more accessible and delicious than ever before!”
The launch of Neat Burger Nolita is the next step in the company’s trajectory as a global brand, with plans to continue to grow additional locations across the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
Located at 25 Cleveland Place Neat Burger will be open seven days a week from 10.30am to 10pm. For more information, visit Neat-Burger.com.
