Vegan fast food chain PLNT Burger announces it is launching two new sandwiches featuring Meati Chik’n Cutlets at all of its locations across the US East Coast.
Starting April 10, the chain will feature two “superfood” sandwiches made with Meat’s mycelium protein:
- Crispy Chik’n Sandwich: Meati Crispy Cutlet, green leaf lettuce, pickles and garden herb mayo on a potato bun – $9.99 ($10.99 in NYC)
- Spicy Crispy Chik’n Sandwich: Meati Crispy Cutlet, hot sauce, plant-based pepperjack cheese, green leaf lettuce, pickles and garden herb mayo on a potato bun – $10.99 ($11.49 in NYC)
The new menu partnership follows Meati’s national debut in Sprouts Farmets Markets, which saw the brand launch its Classic Cutlet, Crispy Cutlet, Classic Steak and Carne Asada Steak in 380 stores.
Meati’s products are also featured on the menu at three of David Chang’s Momofuku locations in Los Angeles and NYC.
Expanding footprint
In January 2023, Meati announced the opening of the “Mega Ranch” – the company’s largest-ever production facility – which it reported would be capable of producing tens of millions of pounds of mycelium per year. Last year, TIME Magazine recognized Meati’s Cutlet as one of the Best Inventions of 2022. Meati has raised over $250M in funding to date.
PLNT Burger, co-founded by Seth Goldman and celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn, operates over a dozen locations along the East Coast, including New York City, Boston and Washington DC.
To celebrate Earth Month, PLNT Burger says all locations will offer a buy-one-get-one for 50% off special, as well as a $1 credit towards a future PLNT Burger/ Meati purchase in April.
